About Us

The Zulekha Zinga Welfare Trust is a newly founded charity, based out of Preston, Lancashire (United Kingdom). The charity was founded by Yunus Zinga in the name of his late mother, Zulekha. Our aim is to raise money from Zakat and Sadaqah donations in order to help fund and redevelop some of the poorest populations across Southern Asia and Africa.

Our first project is based in a small Muslim village in Jamnagar, an area in Gujarat, India. The majority of the village's economy is based on a fishing industry, where unfortunately many of the men of the village die at sea.

This leaves a large number of widows and orphans, who lack even the most basic of human necessities. The founder of the charity, Yunus, has personally visited the village and surveyed the population to find the most in need of help. A scholar has been consulted throughout the survey to ensure the recipients are eligible to receive Zakat.

Every eligible family has been recorded on this site here, where the families have been given references. إن شاء الله (InshaAllah) all donations will be tracked on this site, showing exactly where the money that has been donated has been spent.
